In March, the issuance of the stablecoin USDT on the Omni, Ethereum, and TRON blockchains decreased by 29.5% compared to February. On the Ethereum mainnet, USDT issuance decreased by 46.7%, while on the TRON mainnet, it increased by 7.5%. There was no issuance on the Omni blockchain during this period. Meanwhile, in terms of on-chain USDT transaction volume, for 7 days in 2021, the transaction volume of USDT on the TRON blockchain has surpassed that on the Ethereum blockchain.
The current circulating supply of USDT is 414.5 billion tokens. In March, 6.7 billion new USDT tokens were minted, with 1,305.4 tokens burned, resulting in a net minting of 6.7 billion tokens. The newly issued USDT was distributed to 5 exchanges, with a total amount of 1.25 billion tokens.
